The big picture
You know a lot of people have trouble looking at "The big picture" because people are so caught up with what they believe, they simply can't except that their belief might be insignificant in the big picture. Here is an example, i've heard people complain on many occasions, that teachers should be liberal or even to the opposite, that teachers should be conservative. I have heard this argument heat up and people scream at each other over what political party should influence our kids. Now i don't have kids, but i think that it's time to take a look at the bigger picture here. Schools are for learning! not a place to try and change a persons political stand point, especially when dealing with grade schools, when the kids are just to young to be fixated on politics. Now if some one takes a class that directly deals with politics, then by all means teach them about politics, but you can't teach without showing both sides without bias. When it comes to classes that do not directly involve politics, then politics do not need to be introduced into that classes agenda. We have a HUGE amount of money going to our education system, but we are still scoring low when you compare American kids with other nations that have less money going toward their education. Why is that? Because our over paid teachers want to try and be the hand that rocks the cradle. Both sides of the political spectrum are trying to do the same thing, both parties are to blame. Just like religion, politics should not be in schools, kids are way to impressionable to have teachers (which are supposed to be mentors helping the growth of intellect within these children) attempt this political brainwashing. Is it any wonder why American kids are stupid (on average, lets not look at individuals)? To sacrifice education for political gain is just wrong. (If your wondering whats the gain, it's numbers) Just like tobacco, if you nab them while they're young, you have a life long customer.
